Files
An exhibit’s Files page in the Gumband UI.
The Files page is your exhibit’s content management system. You may upload, download, and delete content from this page, as well as access your Workspace’s shared content library.
Managing Files
The Exhibit Files tab in the Gumband UI.
Your exhibit’s files will display in a table on the Files page, sorted alphabetically.
You may upload a file to your exhibit from a device using the Upload Exhibit Files button above the files table. A wide range of file types are accepted (up to 50GB each) from images and videos for exhibit content to XML files for configuring routines such as lighting animations.
To delete files from your exhibit, select the files that you would like to delete using the checkboxes at the left-hand side of each row and then press the Delete Files button above the file table.
Shared Workspace Files
Gumband allows you to tap into a shared content library for all projects and exhibits in a Workspace alongside files uploaded directly to each exhibit. To manage Workspace content libraries, Gumband integrates with the third party CMS, Strapi.
When you upload a file to your Workspace’s content library, it will appear on the Files page for each exhibit within that Workspace. These files are prefixed with “[ORG].” When you make updates to files in the shared content library, those updates will be synchronized across all exhibits in the Workspace.
You may upload files to your Workspace content library by pressing the Workspace Files button in the top right of the Files page.
If you do not see the “Workspace Files” button, your workspace may not be configured with our Strapi CMS. Please contact support@gumband.com to set up a Workspace content library.
Using Files as Exhibit Content
The options available to a FileSelection setting will match the files available in the Files page.
Any files listed in the Files page can be accessed by your exhibit through a setting type called a FileSelection. If you are using a shared Workspace content library, these files will be available to use in settings alongside your exhibit-specific files. This link is created by a developer while setting up your exhibit with Gumband.
